Wide body porsche 914. Chassis seems to be structurally sound. Interior is derelict, body could be worse. No engine or trans. $300?? I've seen this on craigslist all month long and it tempts me so. Has custom body panels that seem to be well made, though the front number is cracked.

Modern day REPU... I only have two words for you, DO IT.

Although you really want to go with a 4 port 13B probably, because torquez.

I have a 12A sitting in pieces that is waiting for the right project, then a 13B-MSP that came in my RX8 with almost 115K miles on the original motor, and I'll have another 13B-MSP with some funky rotor work done to it at my disposal as soon as we tear my buddy's RX8 apart again. Rotaries are fun.

I'd like to know how you know... haha. Also, what do you mean by race port? If you're talking peripheral ports and have any sort of knowledge I might need to pick your brain.

I had a 83 with full race ports on it

Its to my understanding just widening the intake and exgaust ports out to get more air in and out of the engine increasing power and tq for obcious reasons.

Mine had some mods done, and for an old car, that thing booted. I was surprised when I laid into it the first time haha

So yeah, that 12A id you wanna ship it up to my house I'd love to run that tihng in my truck xD

Ah, there's actually quite a few different types of ports when you get into rotary stuff... what you're describing is a street port, which retains a lot of drivability and doesn't really change the characteristics of the engine much but adds a little power. My plans for this motor are to go balls out and make it a N/A beast. It'll be completely unstreetable though, idle over 1500, no torque until at least 5k. Should be fun.

Mine was "unstreetable" which is what the builder told me.

It was a full race port with upgraded carb and headers.

Idle loped like a motherfucker. MAde no power in the low end, had to be rung out to get going.

My neighbors hated me....

Ah, well sorry for doubting you, that sounds like either a p-port or bridgey, either way that must have been pretty epic. I can't wait to see this motor whenever I get around to doing a project with it.

I love the sound of a ported rotary though

I would love to see what happens as well. I wanna get back into a rotary once I have money again.

It's crazy. If it's not rusty, it's well worth $300.
